Iran`s representative at IAEA leaves meeting in protest at decision
IRNA
Vienna, Sept 12, IRNA -- Islamic Republic of Iran`s representative at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali-Akbar Salehi on Friday left its Board of Governors meeting to protest to the decision making method applied regarding the Western-proposed resolution on Iran. Salehi told IRNA following his leaving the session "Iran is opposed to the method applied in decision making by the IAEA Board of Governors, as well as the articles included in the resolution on Iran`s nuclear activities." "By leaving the meeting, we wish that our objection would be formally registered at IAEA`s official documents." Salehi said. He appreciated the Non-Aligned Movement countries, "That quite positively proposed over 10 amendments to the resolution proposed by Western countries." The Western countries, particularly the United States and England, have been lobbying with the high ranking officials of the members of the IAEA`s Board of Governors, trying to convince them not to object to their proposed resolution on Iran. In the said resolution Iran is asked to grant full permission to IAEA experts to have access to all its atomic sites at all times unexpectedly, and to take samples freely. Iran is meanwhile asked to end all activities aimed at enrichment of uranium, and sign the IAEA`s additional protocol immediately and unconditionally maximum by October 31. NA/214 End
