In its second developmental flight, the SSLV-D2 vehicle placed EOS-07, Janus-1 and AzaadiSAT-2 satellites into their intended 450 km circular orbit with an inclination of 37 degrees. - TAMIL NADU DEFENCE INDUSTRIAL CORRIDOR India PIB 06 Feb 2023 -- In Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor (TNDIC), 05 (five) nodes namely Chennai, Coimbatore, Hosur, Salem and Tiruchirappalli have been identified. As per information received from Government of Tamil Nadu, arrangements have been made through Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) etc. for potential investment of Rs 11,794 crore by 53 Industries & Organisations in TNDIC. As on date, Rs 3,861 crore have already been invested by the Industries/Organisations. The setting up of new industries in an area generates opportunities for direct and indirect employment. The support sought by Government of Tamil Nadu from time to time for the development of TNDIC are appropriately addressed.
- SUPPORT TO ORDNANCE FACTORIES UNDER TCL India PIB 06 Feb 2023 -- Post Corporatisation of erstwhile Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), the financial assistance provided by the Government to Troop Comforts Limited (TCL) during the FY 2021-22 (from 01.10.2021 to 31.03.2022) and FY 2022-23 is Rs 550.64 crore. The process of fabric manufacturing of newly designed digital combat uniform includes wet processing (chemical refining of fabric), dyeing (application of colour/shades) and printing (of design). Garmenting is the final stage where the stitched apparel is manufactured.

- Defence gets Rs 5.94 lakh crore in Budget 2023-24, a jump of 13% over previous year India PIB 01 Feb 2023 -- The Armed Forces have to be battle ready to meet any eventuality. Towards that end, Non-Salary revenue outlay has been enhanced significantly from Rs 62,431 crore in Budget Estimates (BE) 2022-23 to Rs 90,000 crore in BE 2023-24, representing a 44% jump. This expenditure is expected to close critical gaps in the combat capabilities and equip the Forces in terms of ammunition, sustenance of weapons & assets, military reserves etc.
