MiG-27 aircraft of Indian Air Force crashes in Rajasthan

New Delhi, Nov 10, IRNA -- A MiG-27 fighter plane of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Wednesday crashed near Jodhpur in Rajasthan state shortly after it took off for a routine sortie.
The crash occurred 15 minutes after the aircraft took off from Jodhpur air base. The pilot, Flight Lieutenant A Patni who bailed out safely, had reported trouble in the aircraft, pti reported quoting a defence official as saying, adding there is no damage on the ground.
The IAF has ordered a court of inquiry into the mishap.
This is the Fourth Mig-27 crash. In February this year, the IAF's entire fleet of over 100 Mig 27s were grounded for technical inspection, after a pilot was killed in a crash near Siliguri in West Bengal.
