A MIG-29 fighter today crashed near Adampur Air Force station minutes after taking off though its pilot bailed out safely.
The Jet, which got airborne from the base at 0350 hours IST (Indian Standard Time) crashed just two minutes after taking off, PTI reported here quoting an IAF spokesman.
The pilot bailed out safely before the Jet fell to the ground in the fields of Drolley Khurd village. There were no reports of any casualties on the ground.
This was the fifth IAF aircraft to crash this year.
The government recently cleared a deal for a mid-life upgrade of the MIG-29 fighters.
