After undertaking air maneuvers with the US and French Air Forces, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is to undertake a similar exercise with the British Royal Air Force (BRAF) for the first time at Gwalior and Agra Air Bases from Oct 6.

According to an IAF spokesman, the IAF would be deploying its Russian-acquired Sukhoi 30MKIs, upgraded Mig-21 Bisons and ground attack Mig-27 jet fighters against the Royal Air Force's Tornado F-3 fighters in the week-long exercise.

"The RAF is also deploying its Early Warning and Air Control Aircraft (AWACS) E3-D and VC-10 mid-air refuelers in the exercise aimed at enhancing mutual operational understanding and refine procedural aspects," he said.

To coincide with the exercise, Royal Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Sir Glenn Torpy would also be visiting India.

He will view the maneuvers at Gwalior. During his visit, Torpy will meet the three service chiefs and also call on Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee.
