Chinese Ambassador to India, Sun Yuxi supported Indo-US nuclear deal on civil nuclear energy cooperation.
"China "fully understands" India's energy needs as a rising country in the developing world. We would like to see India develop better relations with the US, just as we are working for better relations with the US", Chinese envoy told reporters here.
There is uncertainty over an agreement being signed on implementation of the nuclear deal as the two sides are facing road blocks over the issue of India's plan to separate its civilian and military nuclear facilities.
Sun said "every government has the right to develop its energy programme.
"Given that India is a rising country in the developing world, we fully understand India's energy needs", he said.
Sun said Chinese President Hu Jintao was expected to visit India later this year and the two sides were examining the possibility of a visit to Beijing by the Prime Minister.
The next round of talks on the boundary quetion is expected to be held here in middle of March, he said.
