egypt demands israel must get rid of weapons of mass destruction
athens, sep. 28, irna -- the egyptian ambassador to tel aviv, muhammed
basyouni, said tuesday egypt would continue to demand israeli nuclear
speaking in an interview with the arabic service of the
israeli-state run radio, basyouni said egypt wouldn't apologize
for raising the issue of the israeli nuclear arsenal on the
international arena, said a despatch from al-qods.
''this is for the sake of peace and in the interest of the peoples
of the region, we simply can't have peace in the shadow of weapons of
basyouni said continued israeli monopoly of nuclear weapons was
bound to push other countries in the region to seek proper protection.
''israel's insistence on keeping its stockpile of weapons of mass
destruction will only trigger an arms race in the region,'' he warned.
the zionist state is the only entity in the middle east that
possesses a huge arsenal of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons,
along with their proper delivery systems.
