Kim Jong-un observes new armament of frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov in Vladivostok
16.09.2023
Missile and artillery systems of the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov were demonstrated to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who visited Vladivostok.
? Uran anti-ship missile systems and Kalibr universal cruise missile systems, as well as a 100-mm A-190 automatic artillery system were demonstrated to Kim Jong-un, the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, during his visit to the Pacific Fleet frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov.
? Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov, Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, told the North Korean leader and Russian Defence Minister about the specifications of the Russian modern sea-based missile and artillery weapons that the frigate received in modernisation.
? These systems considerably increase the ship's combat capability and qualitatively set it apart from other Project 1155 large anti-submarine ships. With this armament the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov is capable not only of effectively fighting modern enemy submarines, but also of engaging the surface enemy at long distances, as well as of delivering precision strikes against targets located close to the coast and at significant distances from it.
