16.09.2023
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un got a close look at modern missile weapon control systems located at the ship's central command centre during his visit to the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov.
Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, told the North Korean leader and Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu about the expanded capabilities of the new control systems, which allow the Kalibr sea-based cruise missiles to be effectively used against sea and coastal targets at a distance of more than 1,500 km.
At the command post, the Navy Commander-in-Chief reported on its manoeuvring characteristics and control features. The DPRK leader also became familiar with the equipment that guarantee safe navigation.
In the course of modernisation, the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov received new navigational equipment, including GLONASS system equipment, enabling it to successfully carry out combat missions anywhere in the World's Oceans.
