Rodong Sinmun Calls for Redoubling Effort to Prevent Spread of Novel Coronavirus
Korean Central News Agency of DPRK
Pyongyang, February 1 (KCNA) -- It is necessary to redouble an effort to prevent the global rapid spread of the new coronavirus in order to reliably safeguard the life of the people and the security of the state, says an editorial of Rodong Sinmun on Saturday.
It goes on:
To reliably defend the life and security of the people is a top-priority issue of the Workers' Party of Korea and the state.
The DPRK is now pushing forward the work to thoroughly curb the spread of the virus. After the Party and the state took emergency measures, the hygienic and anti-epidemic system has been turned into a state emergency anti-epidemic system so as to eradicate everything fraught with a health risk caused by the virus, and the central, provincial, city and county emergency anti-epidemic headquarters were established to conduct the anti-epidemic work in a unified way.
The novel coronavirus throws the world into uneasiness and horror, but the advantages and might of our state system, which prioritizes the life and security of the people, will be fully demonstrated to the whole world once again, when we ensure that the virus does not reach our country and that no one suffers from the infections.
The editorial appeals to all the people to take an active part in the campaign to curb the expansion of the virus so as to reliably defend the security of our dignified state and the happiness of the people. -0-
