Date: 07/10/2019

Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- The construction of Phalhyang dam for the Orangchon Power Station was completed in the DPRK.

Its completion opened a prospect for finishing the construction of the power station before the set time.

The Phalhyang dam takes a big share in the power station as it has high head and big capacity of water storage.

President Kim Il Sung unfolded a plan for building the Orangchon Power Station and personally set the position of the dam. Chairman Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to the dam under construction several times, clearly indicating the orientation and ways related to its construction.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un visited the power station under construction in July last year to acquaint himself in detail with the dam construction. He took steps to preferentially supply materials and equipment so as to finish the power construction in the shortest period.

A grand chorus prepared by inhabitants in North Hamgyong Province was given on the spot on October 4 with the completed dam for a background. -0-
