Freight Traffic for Flood Damage Rehabilitation on Rapid Increase in DPRK
Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)
Pyongyang, September 14 (KCNA) -- A priority is given to the centralized railway transport for the flood-hit areas of North Hamgyong Province in the DPRK.
According to Han Yong Chol, department director of the Ministry of Railways, 7 500 tons of cargo including cement, rolled steel and fuel oil were carried by train to the disaster areas on Tuesday alone.
The ministry has striven to organize and control the transport services in a mobile way and thus raise the carrying capacity.
Various railway bureaus under it work hard to ensure the formation and departure of centralized transport trains without delay while considerably reducing their stoppage time.
The Chongjin Railway Bureau in North Hamgyong Province is concentrating its efforts on the reduction of unloading time. -0-
