DPRK Strives to Prevent Flood Damage

Pyongyang, July 21 (KCNA) -- In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, efforts are now concentrated on preventing flood damage.

Collieries and other mines and power stations have taken measures to go on production in a rainy spell, keeping drain pumps and motors in full readiness.

Railway workers reinforce railroad structures and repair revetments, readjusting the sites susceptible to downpour.

The fields of the construction and light industry step up the work to keep products and raw materials from flood damage.

The city management field strives to prevent possible spillover of rivers, while paying deep attention to the work for ensuring the normal supply of drinking water, not affected by flood.
