Kim Jong-un and his wife attend air force test event - media
eader of North Korea Kim Jong-un and his wife Ri Sol-ju attended a combat flight contest at an air force base in the western region of the country, the Kyodo agency reports.
The major North Korean newspaper Rodong Sinmun published pictures of Kim Jong-un and his wife Ri Sol-ju during the competition of pilots.
In April, North Korean mass-media published a photograph of the leader of the country coming out of a plane. But the photos of Kim Jong-un leaving a plane together with his wife are released for the first time.
Kim said the event, held at an undisclosed air field, was aimed at building organizational strength and personal initiative.
He gave orders to start the sorties and expressed satisfaction with the results.
According to the Agency, the presence of North Korean leader at the air event should form a public opinion that the young President, unlike his father, does not suffer from aviaphobia. The Agency also notes that the competition was attended by head of the Political Department of North Korean army, Hwang Pyong-So, and previously dismissed from this post Choe Ryong-Hae. The date of the competitions was not reported.
