Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) -- The March, 2013 plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea laid down a strategic line of simultaneously pushing forward economic construction and building of nuclear force. This new line serves as a treasured sword for bringing earlier the building of a thriving socialist nation and national reunification and a banner for protecting the sovereignty and dignity of the nation generation after generation.
Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this in a bylined article.
This line reflects the unshakable will of the dear respected Kim Jong Un to bolster up the nuclear force for self-defence so as to guarantee the security and prosperity of the nation and build on this land the best nation admired by the world.
The nuclear force of the DPRK serves as a just treasured sword for protecting the nation from the daily escalating U.S. nuclear blackmail and its threat of aggression and a reliable shield for defending peace on the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia and ensuring eternal prosperity of a reunified country, the article notes. It is a lifeline of the nation and national treasure of reunified Korea that can never be bartered for anything.
Diversified smaller and lighter nuclear force of the DPRK is reliable war deterrence capable of protecting the nation from the U.S. nuclear disaster, the article says, and goes on:
For the DPRK to bolster up its nuclear force both in quality and quantity is a quite just step to defend the dignity and sovereignty of the country and nation with the U.S. watching for a chance to ignite a war of aggression while posing a constant nuclear threat to the DPRK.
Not only the history of national division but the grave situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula clearly proves that powerful nuclear force alone can protect peace and achieve independent development and prosperity of the nation.
But for the powerful nuclear deterrence of the DPRK, a nuclear war would have already broken out a hundred times.
The military and technical superiority is no longer monopoly of the imperialists. Gone are the days never to return when they could threaten and blackmail the DPRK with A-bombs.
The DPRK's nukes are precious treasure common to the nation as they guarantee the eternal prosperity of a reunified country.
