Senior Officials Pay Tribute to Kim Jong Il

Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- Senior party and state officials and members of the party leadership bodies in Pyongyang visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on Tuesday to pay deep respects to leader Kim Jong Il to mark the 20th anniversary of his election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission (NDC).

A floral basket sent by the dear respected Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK NDC and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, was seen before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

A floral basket in the joint name of the WPK Central Committee, the WPK Central Military Commission, the DPRK NDC, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet was laid before the statues.

The participants paid deep tribute to the statues.

They entered the hall of immortality where Kim Jong Il lies in state and made bows to him in humble reverence.

They went round the hall where the orders he received are on display and the halls which house a car, electric car, boat and train coach used by him.
