Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)

Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) -- Sirens sounded across the DPRK at noon on Monday.

Locomotives, ships and cars sounded horns.

All the party members, service personnel and other people observed three-minute silence in memory of Kim Jong Il in humble reverence, looking up to the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun where he lies in state and toward Pyongyang.

All institutions, industrial establishments, construction sites, rural villages, fishing villages, schools, streets, residential quarters and families across the country are wrapped in an atmosphere of deep memory for him.
