Rodong Sinmun Calls on Koreans to Adhere to Idea of "By Our Nation Itself"

Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- The spirit "By the Korean nation itself" clarified in the June 15 joint declaration is a noble patriotic idea giving strong impetus to national reconciliation, unity and the cause of national reunification, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a bylined article.
The stirring reality unfolded in the June 15 era of reunification clearly proves the validity and vitality of the idea of "By our nation itself" as a spiritual weapon for putting strong spurs to national reconciliation, unity, cooperation and exchange, says the article, adding:
It is preposterous to talk about dialogue, cooperation and hope for the improved north-south relations while opposing the idea of "By our nation itself."
The frozen north-south relations clearly indicate that it is impossible to avoid mistrust and confrontation between the north and the south and achieve reconciliation and cooperation if one denies the idea of "By our nation itself" and behaves contrary to it.
The south Korean people claim that the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration made tangible contributions to ensuring peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and are nostalgic of the days when the declarations were implemented.
Reflecting this mindset, opposition presidential candidates underline the need to take an active approach towards the achievement of north-south reconciliation and cooperation and implementation of the declarations.
All Koreans are becoming vociferous in their wishes and will to achieve independent reunification, peace and prosperity by dynamically advancing along the road indicated by the historic declarations. No force on earth can block it.
All Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should pool their will and efforts in the idea of "By our nation itself" irrespective of idea, political view and religious belief and turn out as one in a nation-wide struggle to bring earlier the independent and peaceful reunification of the country.
