Kim Jong Un Issues Order on Promoting Military Ranks of KPA Commanding Officers

Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, on Friday issued Order No. 009 on promoting the military ranks of KPA commanding officers.
He said that the Korean revolutionary armed forces which President Kim Il Sung founded and led along the road of victory and glory and General Secretary Kim Jong Il developed into the matchless army of Mt. Paektu have performed great exploits for the party, revolution, country and its people while carrying forward the glorious tradition of devotedly defending the leader for 80 years and are now fully demonstrating their tremendous might as a strong army in the defence of the country and the building of a thriving nation.
He issued the order to promote the military ranks of KPA commanding officers who have grown up as the backbone of the revolutionary forces under the care of the Workers' Party of Korea and leaders, on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Kim Il Sung. He also expressed belief that they would creditably discharge their duties as vanguard fighters of the Songun revolution in the sacred struggle to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche generation after generation, true to the behests of Kim Jong Il.
According to the order, Pak Sun Hwan has been promoted to Lieut. General, Kim Yong Hwa, Son Kyong Bok and 68 others to Maj. General.
