Launch of Kwangmyongsong-3 Will Be Pride for DPRK

Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)

Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) -- The spokesman for the Korean Committee for Space Technology in a statement Friday announced that a home-made application satellite would be launched to mark the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung (April 15).

The announcement gave a great joy to officials of the Ministry of Railways.

A department director, Paek Kum Chol, told KCNA:

"I am so pleased to hear that an earth observation satellite will be launched on the occasion of the Day of the Sun (April 15).

This news makes me sorely miss general secretary Kim Jong Il, who developed the DPRK into a dignified nuclear state and a satellite manufacturing and launching state."

Another department director, Kwon Chol, said:

"The upcoming launch of an application satellite is a great pride for Kim Il Sung's nation and Kim Jong Il's Korea.

The launch of the home-made satellite will fully demonstrate once again the might of Songun (military-first) Korea.

We, railway workers, will greet the President's birth anniversary with increased haulage."
