Many Modern Fruit Farms Built in DPRK

Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)

Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- Many fruit farms have been built on a modern basis in the DPRK.

Several thousand hectares of orchards have appeared in Pyongyang, Kosan, Ryongjon, Toksong and other areas of the country.

The fruit farms carried out such projects as rezoning many hectares, digging holes, installing concrete props and constructing roads and waterways in a short span of time.

They made dwarf apple tree fields in flatland.

They produce fruits in a scientific and technological way.

They also set up a system of cultivating high-yielding fruit saplings like pear, plum, peach, apricot and vine, and nursing varieties of fruit trees.

The fruit farms have employed new methods of improving nutritive conditions of apple trees, protecting them from noxious insects and spraying agricultural chemicals.

A ring-shaped cyclic production system is available for fruit farming and stockbreeding.
