Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK foreign ministry gave the following answer put by KCNA Thursday as regards the DPRK-U.S. high-level talks:
The second round of the high-level talks was held in Geneva, Switzerland on Monday and Tuesday between the DPRK delegation led by First Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Kye Gwan and the U.S. delegation led by Special Representative for DPRK Policy Stephen Bosworth.
The talks that took place in the wake of the previous ones held at the end of July helped deepen each other's understanding and made a series of progress.
Both sides decided to further DPRK-U.S. contacts and talks to discuss and solve the pending issues in the light of building confidence.
The DPRK side remains unchanged in its stand to resume the six-party talks at an early date without precondition to implement the September 19 joint statement for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in a comprehensive and balanced manner on the principle of simultaneous actions.
