Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, Thursday sent a message of thanks to Hu Jintao, general secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China.
The message said:
On my way home after successfully winding up the visit to the PRC, a friendly neighbor, I express deep thanks to you and close comrades of the CPC collective leadership and officials and people of Beijing and localities for the warm welcome and cordial hospitality accorded to us.
This time we toured Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces, where the DPRK-China friendship took its historic root and unforgettable memoirs are associated, and Jiangsu Province and Beijing of China. During the visit we realized the invincible vitality of the DPRK-China friendship daily growing stronger century after century and deeply felt again the Chinese people's warm friendship toward us.
We were deeply moved and greatly encouraged to see at first hand the sagacious and industrious Chinese people make signal achievements in building socialism with Chinese characteristics this meaningful year, which marks the 90th birthday of the CPC and the first year for carrying out the 12th Five-Year Plan.
Being satisfied at the fact that you and I reached a good agreement of views on all matters of mutual concern in the recent meeting and talks, I express belief that the DPRK-China friendship, sealed in blood and handed down by the elder generations of the two countries, will develop steadily through generations in the common interests and wishes of the two peoples.
I heartily wish that the fraternal Chinese people would register greater successes in the cause of achieving the prosperity of China under the correct guidance of the CPC with you as its general secretary and thus adorn the 90th anniversary of the CPC and that you would enjoy good health.
