O Kim Jong-il visited China on August 26 - 30. On August 31, North Korea held a central reporting rally marking the fiftieth anniversary of Kim Jong-il’s admission to Kim Il-sung University (September 1, 1960).
[Outside North Korea]
o On August 30, the US announced that it placed additional eight entities and four individuals from North Korea on the list of targets of sanctions.
