o According to a June 18 report, Kim Jong-il visited Nakwon Mechanical United Enterprise in North Pyeongan Province. On June 14, North Korea held a central reporting rally marking the 10th anniversary of the June 15 inter-Korean joint declaration. The country also held a central reporting rally commemorating the 46th anniversary of Kim Jong-il’s commencement of party undertakings on June 18.
[Inter-Korean Issues]
o On June 12, North Korea threatened to wage a military strike in response to the South Korean military’s installation of loudspeakers for psychological warfare.
