[Inside North Korea]
o Kim Jong-il visited the command of Military Unit No. 586, according to an April 25 report. Party Secretary Kim Jung-rin died on April 28, and Party First Vice Director Lee Yong-chul died on April 26.
[Inter-Korean Issues]
o On April 29, North Korea issued a statement blaming South Korea for the foiled May Day Inter-Korean Joint Event. North Korea also mentioned its release of a white paper that misrepresented and denounced the human rights conditions in South Korea.
