o On the occasion of Kim Il-sung’s 98th birthday, North Korea announced a large-scale general-level promotion and held a central reporting rally on April 14.

o On April 17, North Korea argued that the rumor about its involvement in the sinking of a South Korean corvette was a complete fabrication.
