Lavrov Says Russia Concerned About North Korea Nuclear Program
December 13, 2010
Russia's foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, has told his North Korean counterpart that Moscow is deeply concerned over the North's uranium-enrichment efforts.
Lavrov also condemned the November 23 attack on a South Korean island that killed four people and triggered a regional crisis.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in statement that Lavrov "expressed deep concern" to visiting North Korean Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun over "information about the creation...of industrial uranium enrichment capabilities."
Lavrov urged Pyongyang to abandon its nuclear program.
