6th Pyongyang Autumn Int'l Trade Fair Opens

Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- The 6th Pyongyang Autumn International Trade Fair was opened with due ceremony at the Three-Revolution Exhibition on Monday.
Displayed there are machine tools, electric and electronic equipment, vehicles, medicines, daily necessities, foodstuff, etc produced by companies of the DPRK, China, Germany, Russia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Syria, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia, Austria, Italy, Indonesia, India, Cuba, Poland and Taipei of China.
Present there were Ri Thae Nam, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Ri Ryong Nam, minister of Foreign Trade, and others, delegations and delegates of different countries and regions, diplomatic envoys and staff members of embassies of various countries here.
O Ryong Chol, vice-minister of Foreign Trade, made a congratulatory speech to be followed by an opening address made by Kim Mun Jong, director of the Korean International Exhibition Corporation.
Speakers said that it is the consistent policy of the DPRK to develop economic and trade relations with all the countries friendly to the DPRK on the principle of equality and mutual benefits.
Saying that the trade fair is playing a big role in improving the economic trade and conditions for the exchange of advanced science and technology and ensuring close economic cooperation among countries, they stressed that the DPRK would more extensively develop the relations of economic cooperation with other countries.
A reception was given at Pyongyang Koryo Hotel on the same day in connection with the opening of the fair.
The trade fair will last till Oct. 21.
