Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)
Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- Col. General Liang Guanglie, state councilor and defense minister of China, Thursday met and had a talk with the friendly visiting group of the Korean People's Army headed by Pyon In Son, vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces, at the August 1 Building in Beijing.
On the occasion Liang recalled that he was honored to have an audience with Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il when visiting the DPRK last year.
China and the DPRK are friendly neighbors sharing rivers and mountains, he said, and went on:
The traditional Sino-DPRK friendship is one provided and developed by Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people, and Chinese revolutionaries of elder generation.
Recently the bilateral relations have developed on better terms.
Kim Jong Il visited China twice this year and high-level visits increased.
The development of relationship between the two armies is making great contribution to the strengthening of the Sino-DPRK friendly relations.
We will strive to consolidate and develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the two armies.
