"Selected Works of Kim Jong Il" Vol. 5 Published

Pyongyang, October 2 (KCNA) -- The Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House brought out Vol. 5 of "Selected Works of Kim Jong Il" (enlarged edition) comprehensively dealing with his works.
The book contains 12 works including speeches, conclusions, talks, etc. made by Kim Jong Il from March to December, Juche 62 (1973).
His work "On the Art of the Cinema" specifies the principles and ways of producing and creating Juche-oriented and revolutionary cinematic art and literature and art.
In his works "Novel 'Mangyongdae' Is a Masterpiece Which Successfully Depicts the Childhood of the Great Leader" and "On Consolidating and Developing Achievements Made in the Creation of Revolutionary Operas" and other works he clarified the tasks and ways for effecting a turn in the creation of literary works and putting the opera art on a higher level by consolidating and developing the achievements made in the creation of revolutionary operas.
The book also contains works indicating the tasks and ways for improving the ideological work of the party.
Also contained in the book are works dealing with the specific tasks which would serve as guidelines for enforcing the universal eleven-year compulsory education and enhancing the responsibility and role of teachers and works indicating ways for developing sports science Korean way.
There are in the book works giving perfect solutions to theoretical and practical issues arising in the revolution and construction including the matter of firmly arming the party members and other working people with the revolutionary outlook on the world and arousing their voluntary enthusiasm.
