Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)

Pyongyang, September 29 (KCNA) -- One April day in Juche 35 (1946) President Kim Il Sung visited then Anju County, South Phyongan Province.

The President told officials and peasants of the county that he had come to solve the water shortage of the Yoldusamcholli Plain, saying he had always been worried about the peasants' great deal of trouble over agricultural water.

He then said that the Phyongnam irrigation project had been planned to water the plain involving tens of thousands of hectares in Anju and Phyongwon counties and realize the peasants' longing for water.

After the project was launched, he gave field guidance to it several times for its successful completion.

Since the completion of the project, the peasants have done farming, not worried about water shortage.
