Kim Jong Il Enjoys Art Performance

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il appreciated a performance given by the female brass band of the Korean People's Internal Security Forces.
The band put on the stage such colorful numbers as band music "The Party Represents the Care of the General", trumpet solo "The General Is Using the Art of Shrinking the Earth", serial songs of band music "Song of Thanks", brass quartet "For My Only Motherland", saxophone ensemble "A Thriving Nation Is in Sight" and trumpet trio "Higher and Faster".
He extended thanks to the artistes of the female brass band, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that they presented a splendid concert rich in ideological contents and high in artistry and replete with the spirit of the era of Songun Korea.
He advanced the tasks which would serve as guidelines for their creative work and performing activities, expressing expectation and conviction that the female brass band would give fuller play to the might of the revolutionary soldier artists unit by firmly preserving its peculiar character.
Among the audience were Jang Song Thaek, vice-chairman of the NDC of the DPRK and department director of the WPK Central Committee, Choe Thae Bok and Kim Ki Nam, secretaries of the C.C., the WPK, and other leading officials of the C.C., the WPK, Ri Pyong Sam, director of the Political Bureau of the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, KPA General Hyon Chol Hae and other commanding officers of the army and armed forces organs.
