North Korean media reported on Kim Jong-il’s public activities for five times from September 6 to September 12 in 2010.
NK activities related to the 62nd anniversary of the foundation of the regime
North Korea reported that a series of events including a national meeting (September 8) were held to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the foundation of the regime. (Korean Central Broadcasting Station, Korean Central Television, Korean Central Television on September 4 ~ September 11)
NK blasts the South for revising its rules of engagement in the Yellow sea.
North Korea condemned the South Korean government for revising its rules of engagement in the Yellow sea. It insisted that the revision was explicit military threats to the North and prelude to invasion and war. (Rodong Sinmun on September 7)
NK releases the South Korean fishing boat “Daeseong.”
North Korea reported that it decided to release the South Korean fishing boat “Daeseung” that was captured by the North on August 8. The reports said that the decision was made on “patriotic and humanitarian grounds.”(Korean Central News Agency on September 6)
NK called for concluding a peace treaty with the U.S.
North Korean media reported on a speech of the North Korean representative at the Geneva Conference on disarmament (August 30) where the speaker called for concluding a peace treaty between the North and the U.S. (Rodong Sinmun, Korean Central News Agency on September 7)
