Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)

Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- A dam of the large Kumyagang Power Station was completed in the east coastal area of the DPRK.

The dam created a grand power base with rich water resources in the upper reaches of Kumya River and made it possible to satisfactorily water tens of thousands hectares of paddy and non-paddy fields with the help of the grand man-made lake, thus providing a reliable guarantee for boosting agricultural production.

In hearty response to the gigantic nature-remaking plan of the Workers' Party of Korea the soldier and civilian builders launched dynamic general offensive from the first day of the construction with unanimous will to finish ahead of schedule the construction of the power station which is of important significance in the country's electrification and bring about better future.

Relevant units have ensured timely provision of necessary equipment and materials while educational and scientific research institutes provided scientific and technological guarantees for the construction of the dam.

Thanks to the patriotism of the builders and help from across the country, a great dam made its majestic appearance in the upper part of Kumya River formerly covered with natural forests.
