Korean Central News Agency reported that Chairman kim Jong-il appreciated a light comedy “Echo of Mountain” on May 8.
Emphasis on a movement to create new standards and new records
North Korea stressed that people should vigorously wage movement to create new standards and new records in order to make a landmark turn in improving peoples’ living standard. (in a commentary of Rodong Shinmun on May 5)

NK, distorting and criticizing the reviving concept of the “main enemy” of the South Korean government.
North Korea distorted and criticized the South Korean government’s consideration to revive its concept to describe North Korea as the “main enemy” and to bring up the “North Korean human rights issues.” The Notrh also insisted firm response to the South. (Rodong Shinmun, Minju Joson on May 4 to May 5)

Kim Jong-il’s visit to China
Chairman Kim Jong-il paid an unofficial visit to China by the invitation of President and Party General Secretary, Hu Jintao from May 3 to May 7.
Chairman Kim, confirming willingness to create conditions for a resumption of the six party talks
Chairman Kim Jong-il unofficially visited China (from May 3 ~ 7) and had a meeting with President Hu Jintao. At this meeting, Chairman Kim confirmed his willingness to create favorable conditions to resume the six party talks.
