Floral Tribute Paid to Kim Il Sung

Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- Servicepersons, people from all walks of life and school youth and children laid floral baskets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung on the occasion of the 78th birthday of the Korean People's Army.

The statue of the President on Mansu Hill in the city of Pyongyang was visited by servicepersons, working people and school youth and children and overseas compatriots.

Seen before the statue was a floral basket from Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the KPA.

Placed before it were floral baskets in the name of party, armed forces and power organs, social organizations, ministries, national institutions, KPA units, scientific, educational, cultural and art and public health and media institutions, industrial establishments and schools and flowers.

The participants paid tribute to the statue in humble reverence.

Floral baskets were also laid before his statues in different parts of the city.

Servicepersons, people and school youth and children across the country placed floral baskets and flowers before the statues of the President in their residential areas.
