Kim Jong Il Issues Order on Raising Military Ranks

Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il Friday issued order 0046 on raising the military ranks of commanding officers of the KPA.
The order said:
KPA unit 963 has performed distinguished feats in the socialist construction including the construction of the Nyongwon Power Station and the Mirim Barrage in the past and given full play to the revolutionary soldier spirit in the construction of the Huichon Power Station, an outpost in building a thriving nation, bringing about ceaseless miracles and innovations in their construction projects and creditably performing their role as vanguard and a shock brigade.
The Supreme Commander said in his order that he ordered to promote the military ranks of Yun Jong Rin to general and that of Kim Song Dok to col. general on the occasion of the significant army day, expressing the firm belief that the commanding officers of the unit would as ever firmly defend the revolutionary cause of Juche with arms and creditably discharge the honorable mission and duty as a main force of the revolution in the building of a thriving socialist nation, true to the leadership of the party.
