North Korean Media reported Kim Jong-il’s public activities for three times from March 29 to April 4 in 2010.
A national meeting of scientists and engineers
North Korea reported that a national meeting of scientists and engineers was held in Pyongyang on March 31 participated with scientists, engineers and the members of the party and the administration. (Korean Central Television on Mar. 31)
Pyongyang , planning to build 35,000 houses this year
North Korea reported its project contents and recent developments in regard to its plan to build 100,000 flats in Pyongyang by 2012. The North revealed that the project will be pursued in a 3-step progress: 35,000 flats in 2010, 30,000 flats in 2011, 35,000 flats in 2012. (Chosun Shinbo on Mar. 30)
Emphasis on raising people’s living standard
North Korea stressed that 200,000 people and military should accelerate their efforts to increase people’s living standard by realizing President Kim Il Sung’s idealogy “to respect people like heaven.” (Rodong Sinmun, Korean Central Television on Apr. 1)

Statement of spokesperson for the Panmunjom Mission of the Korean People's Army
North Korea announced the statement of the Panmunjom Mission of the Korean People's Army spokesperson and criticized that the Korean media’s coverage on the DMZ is a psychological warfare to make anti-North Korea materials. The North also threatened that the South might suffer an unexpected damage including casualties. ” (Korean Central News Agency on Mar. 29)
The North’s Korean Journalist Union spokesperson’s statement
The spokesperson for the Korean Journalist Union criticized that the South Korean media are focusing on anti-North Korea propaganda. Meanwhile, the North promoted struggles to fight against “the control of the Korean government on the media.” (Korean Central News Agency on Mar. 29)

Press conference to refute the resolution of the UN Human Rights Committee
A North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesperson said in a press conference that the North “does not recognize and totally refute the Resolution on North Korea’s human Rights adapted by the UN Human Rights Committee.” (Korean Central News Agency on Mar. 29)
