Adherence to Independent Stand Called for

Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- The people's desire and requirement for independence are growing stronger than ever before. This reality, accordingly, requires maintaining closer relations among countries and developing them in various fields. What is important for doing this is for each country to firmly maintain an independent stand in foreign relations.
Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this in a signed article.
No matter how many difficulties countries may face in their revolutions, they should more firmly adhere to the independent stand and push forward the revolution and construction their own way, it notes, and goes on:
History goes to prove that those countries dancing to the tune of others without any principle are bound to undergo twists and turns and meet failures and setbacks without exception.
The Korean revolution has emerged victorious by firmly adhering to the independent stand. President Kim Il Sung hewed out the path of the independent development of the Korean revolution, holding high the banner of independence from the outset of his revolutionary activities. He regarded it as a fundamental principle to establish Juche and maintain independence in the revolution and construction and wisely led the work to strictly abide by it.
The Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people have firmly defended and glorified Korean style socialism despite any storm and politically-motivated quake by firmly maintaining the independent stand.
General Secretary Kim Jong Il is possessed of the strongest grit and pluck which no one can match in the world and the supreme incarnation of independent faith. The strong independent stand of the WPK and the Korean people reflects his grit, pluck and faith and their fruition.
The international authority and prestige of the DPRK are now exceptionally rising as it has firmly adhered to the independent stand in international relations. The DPRK's independent foreign policy is commanding support from broad strata of world people for its justice.
