Employees of Feb. 8 Vinalon Complex Feted

Pyongyang, March 6 (KCNA) -- A banquet, provided by General Secretary Kim Jong Il in honor of workers and technicians of the February 8 Vinalon Complex, took place at Majon Hotel, Sinhungsan Hotel and the Sinhung Restaurant on Saturday.

Attending it were senior party, state and army officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, chief secretaries of the provincial committees of the Workers' Party of Korea, leading officials of working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions as well as active workers, technicians and officials of the complex.

Speeches were made at the banquet by President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly Kim Yong Nam, Premier Kim Yong Il and Secretary of the WPK Central Committee Choe Thae Bok.

The speakers referred to the unremitting efforts Kim Jong Il made to turn the complex associated with the lifelong pains of President Kim Il Sung into a modern factory substantially conducive to improving the people's standard of living.

Noting that Kim Jong Il gave the credit for the achievements made in the project for putting the complex on a modern basis to its workers, technicians and officials and put them forward at the meridian of glory and happiness, they praised him as the great leader and tender-hearted father who takes warm care of the revolutionary soldiers and trains them to be masters of history carving out and advancing the era, treasures of the country and vanguard fighters in the gigantic drive to build a thriving nation while making them enjoy a worthwhile life and honor to the full.

They called upon the workers of the complex to bear deep in mind his benevolence and remain faithful to the Songun revolutionary leadership of the WPK and work sustained miracles and feats in the ongoing general offensive for improving the people's standard of living.

They underscored the need to bring about great changes once again in the work to keep the production of the vinalon factory going at a steady rate and expand its capacity, cherishing the idea and intention carried in the joint New Year editorial, the joint calls of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the WPK and the letter of the workers at the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, and thus push forward the final charge to open the gate to a thriving nation.
