Kim Jong Il Enjoys Performance Given by KPA Art Squad

Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il enjoyed together with servicepersons of KPA Large Combined Unit 264 an art performance given by its art squad.

The art squad put on the stage chorus "Soldiers Live Near the General", male quartet "It Is Offensive", female solo and pangchang "A Soldier Hears Rice Ears Sway", poem and chorus "We Will Defend the Leadership of the Revolution at the Cost of Our Lives" and other colorful numbers of various genres.

The performers truthfully represented the invincible might of the KPA which has grown to be a matchless army under the loving care of the great brilliant commander and the unshakable faith and will of the service personnel of the KPA to devotedly defend the headquarters of the revolution and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche with arms, remaining loyal to the Party.

He expressed great satisfaction over the splendid performance high in artistry and rich in ideological contents the members of the art squad presented, reflecting the spirit of the army of Songun Korea fully ready to annihilate the enemy. He highly appreciated the success made by them in the performance and extended thanks to them.

He praised them for their revolutionary work style, saying that the members of the art squad are sharing weal and woe with soldiers and conducting militant performing activities as befitting the artistes of the revolutionary army, thus instilling conviction of sure victory and optimism and will and courage to wipe out the enemy into servicepersons.

He set forth important tasks which would serve as guidelines for all the art squads in intensifying their performing activities as required by the era of Songun.

Among the audience were Department Directors of the Central Committee of the WPK Kim Kyong Hui and Jang Song Thaek and First Vice Department Directors of the C.C., the WPK Ju Kyu Chang, Ri Je Gang and Ri Jae Il.
