o On October 5, Kim Jong-il watched the ‘Arirang'(a revolutionary musical of the North) together with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao. Kim expressed his willingness to conditionally accept the six-party talks. He also watched a performance at the Hwanghaebuk-do Theater and conducted on-site guidance at the Sariwon Cooperative Farm, according to an October 8 report.
o On the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the Workers’ Party on October 9, North Korea held an evening party with a gun salute. On October 10, The Mansudae Art Troupe, National Symphony Orchestra, and Pyongyang Circus Troupe gave a celebratory performance.
