o Kim Jong-il met with visiting former US President Bill Clinton on August 4. According to an August 4 report in Chosunshinbo, North Korea newly opened the Pyongyang Dancing College.
[Outside North Korea]
o On August 5, North Korea contended that former US President Bill Clinton’s visit would contribute to building mutual confidence between North Korea and the US. On August 3, a goodwill delegation of the Chinese Communist Party made a visit to North Korea.
[Inter-Korean Issues]
o On August 8, North Korea criticized the South Korean government’s submission of a report to the U.N. Security Council on implementation of measures regarding Resolution No. 1874 passed against North Korea, calling it “rash behavior against reunification.”
