o According to a July 17 KCNA report, Kim Jong-il made a tour of Navy Unit No. 597 and newly set up the Ministry of Daily Food Supply Industry in the Cabinet on July 22. In the meantime, a fast food restaurant that opened in Pyongyang has become the talk of the town.
[Outside North Korea]
o North Korea denounced US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton as a "schoolgirl” or “old woman" on July 23. In connection with Japan’s overseas dispatch of its troops, North Korea argued on July 20 that “Vessels of the Self-Defense Forces are pirate ships.”
