[ Inside North Korea ]
o North Korea held a central memorial rally on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Kim Il-sung’s death (according to a July 8 report). According to a July 12 report by the country, torrential rains occurred in some parts of South and North Hwanghae Province and Gangwon Province.
[ Outside North Korea ]
o On July 11, Kim Young-nam, president of the presidium of the Supreme People’s Assemby, left Pyongyang to attend a Non-Aligned Movement summit to be held in Egypt on July 16.
[Inter-Korean Issues]
o In a July 10 statement issued by the spokesperson for its Central Special Zone Development Guidance Bureau, North Korea threatened South Korea, saying that it might take unilateral measures in connection with the working-level contact concerning the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.
