Internal Affairs
- Emphasis on 100-day struggle for triumphant unity – The North called for unity to continue to make the 100-day struggle successful in a commentary of Rodong Sinmun. It is reported from Dec 1 to 5.
- Ongoing currency reform in the North – The North has announced its currency reform, which means issuing new currency and exchanging them into new one from Nov 30 to Dec 6. It is reported by Chosun Shinbo on Dec 4.
Inter-Korean Affairs
- Continuous criticism on Unification Minister – The North has continuously criticized Unification Minister for South’s North Korea policy including Denuclearization and Opening 3000. It is reported by Rodong Sinmun, Korean Central News Agency and Uriminzokkiri from Dec 1 to 6.
- Continuous criticism on the South Korean government – The North has stepped up their criticism on the South Korean government for preparing their invasion to the North, suppression to the ‘Unity for Action’, decision to re-dispatch to Afghanistan , Human rights’ bill for the North. It is reported by Rodong Sinmun, Korean Central News Agency from Nov 29 to Dec 4.
Foreign Affairs
- Peace is the key issue between the North and US – The North has said that peace is the key issue between the US and North in the run-up to Bosworth’s visit to North Korea . It is reported in a commentary of Chosun Shinbo from Dec 2 to 5.
- China ’s vice commissioner of National People’s Congress standing committee, Liao Chengzhi, visited North Korea from Nov 30 to Dec 4. It is reported by the North Korean medial.
- Denouncing Japan for running for UN Security Council member- The North has criticized Japan for not correcting their history distortion and running for US Security Council member. These efforts are criticized for showing Japan ’s intention to introduce their militaristic aspiration. It is reported by Rodong Sinmun on Dec 1.
