Internal Affairs

  • The DPRK’s Korean Central News Agency reported on November 25 that Kim Jong-il gave on-site guidance while visiting the Rakwon Machine Complex and the soap division of the Sinuiju Cosmetics Factory in Sinuiju , Pyeonganbuk-do.
  • About 3.975 people have visited the Sinchon Museum for a decade ever since Kim Jong-il paid a visit there on November in 1998.

Inter-Korean Affairs

  • In a notification letter signed by the North Korean representative of the inter-Korean general-level military meeting, the DPRK notified the South on November 24 that it would take serious measures such as limiting the number of people who could stay in Gaesong Industrial Complex and suspending tourism in the city of Gaesong and the inter-Korean railway service.

Foreign Affairs

  • In a commentary titled as “Need to See the Essence of the Reality” published in Korean Central News Agency on November 24, the North asserted again that the North Korea-.U.S. agreement did not include ‘sampling,’ rebutting those claims that its rejection to sampling delayed the opening of the next round of six-party talks, and urged the other five concerned parties to fulfill their promises for economic compensation.
  • North Korea criticized the U.S. ’s movement to enhance its military power in the Asia-Pacific region and Korean peninsula as an ambition to dominate the world and a strategy to launch pre-emptive attacks against North Korea .
  • North Korea elaborated the history of Japan ’s sanctions on the North, urging their abolition. It also criticized Japan for its movement for outward expansion under the rubric of contributing to the global peace.
