Rodong Sinmun on Songun Politics
Korean Central News Agency of DPRK via Korea News Service (KNS)
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- The Songun politics calls for putting forward the army, the main force in the confrontation with the imperialists, as the mainstay of the revolution and giving top priority to the military affairs to cope with any moves of the imperialists for aggression.
Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says this in a signed article.
The idea that the Songun politics serves as a political mode to be always held fast to as long as imperialists remain on earth and their moves for aggression persist is based on the scientific clarification of imperialism, the article notes, and goes on:
Aggression and war are the mode of existence of the imperialists and their principal job.
They spark off an arms race and create the danger of war, keen to beef up armed forces and step up arms expansion in a bid to realize their wild ambition to dominate the world.
The historic and strategic position of the Songun politics can never change as long as imperialism exists.
Invariable is the principle of revolution which calls for defending the sovereignty of the country and winning victory by dint of arms.
The socialist cause is a revolutionary cause to be accomplished generation after generation.
The imperialists are working hard to ignite wars of aggression against socialist countries, posing constant military threats to them while regarding them as a thorn in their flesh. They are, at the same time, persisting in their moves to destabilize and bring down socialism through capitalist ideological and cultural poisoning.
The practical experience of the people of the DPRK and the historic review of the Korean revolution prove that the Songun politics is the life and soul and future of the country and the nation and to advance under the uplifted banner of Songun provides a sure guarantee for winning victory in the popular masses' cause of independence, the socialist cause despite any storm and stress and hardships of history.
The developing countries and small countries should direct bigger efforts to boosting their military capabilities.
They should not have any slightest illusion about imperialism.
They should never be taken in by the imperialists' policy of "appeasement" but bolster up their defense capabilities as long as the imperialists exist.
The master key to frustrating the imperialists' policy of strength and achieving victory in the human cause of independence, the cause of peace lies in always holding fast to the Songun politics, the most effective and all-mighty treasured sword in the present era.
