Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) -- Xi Jinping, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and vice-president of the People's Republic of China, arrived here today to pay an official goodwill visit to the DPRK at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and the government of the DPRK.
Arriving together with him were Vice-Minister in Charge of the National Development and Reform Commission Zhu Zhixin, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Zhang Yesui, Deputy Head of the International Liaison Department of the C.C., CPC Liu Hongcai, Vice-Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng, Deputy Director of the Policy Research Office of the C.C., CPC Shi Zhihong and other suite members.
Xi Jinping and his entourage were greeted at the airport by Vice-President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly Yang Hyong Sop, Secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK Kim Ki Nam, Vice Department Director of the C.C., WPK Kim Thae Jong, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Yong Il, Vice-Minister of Foreign Trade Ku Pon Thae and Vice-Chairman of the State Planning Commission Choe Pae Jin.
On hand were Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Liu Xiaoming and the staff members of his embassy, Chinese guests and Chinese students studying here.
A welcome ceremony took place at the airport.
After the national anthems of the two countries were played, Yang Hyong Sop and Xi Jinping reviewed a guard of honor of the Korean People's Army.
A Korean working woman and a woman of the Chinese embassy here presented bunches of flowers to Xi Jinping.
Xi Jinping made public an arrival statement.
